I downloaded and installed the trial for WoW. But when I tried to auto-patch it, it gave me this "Launcher requires write permissions from ____ directory to successfully patch the game. Please enable write access to the directory using an administrative account. Thing is, I'm not sure how to do that. I'm an administrator. And my directory is C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft Trial.

    Any ideas?

navigate to the folder, go into properties and unset read only.

Also if you've got UAC turn it down or off.

Now it says I need permissions even though I am an Administrator.

set the permissions then, its on the security tab of properties.

I've been messing around a bit. May I know which to edit? I see like 2 administrators and two OWNERS

administrator is the administrator account, administrators is a group, I'm guessing your on a named account (not 'administrator') in the administrators group, so you want the group permissions set to write. Also make sure creator owner has write perms as well.

it says creator owner has special permissions, not full control.

Okay... Apparently, I'm able to change one, but not the other. Their like semi-transparent.

Oh NOW I see what happened. Halfway during the update, I got a message saying that Windows blocked something from the updater. Now I can't open the updater...
