This guide is for all System Menus, JAP/USA/EUR (like 4.1) You will need a SD Card. I do not hold responsibility for a bricked wii (though if you follow this guide, you won't be bricked) You will understand it more once you carry on reading, then decide if you want to or not, but this makes the Wii more fun In case your wondering.. This is not illegal, but it does make your warranty void. Please do not use this for illegal copied games, this is for BACKEDUP games and homebrew apps/games. First what you need to do is download this RAR file and unzip it. http://www.mediafire.com/?4yjtktdyyiw Then go on to this website http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/ Get the first one on the list. If your 'unsure' what RAR files are and how to unzip http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm Download - WinRAR x86 (32 bit) 3.90 beta 5 or WinRAR x64 (64 bit) 3.90 beta 5 - Install, then right click the file you downloaded off me, then unzip to folder. right you ready Drag everything in the 'basic' folder, and put it on the root on the SD card. erm how do i get to the root? My Computer, Removable Device (or whatever you called your SD card) your there. The second website you downloaded from, drag the file 'Private' over to the root of the SD card what if i already have a private folder? rename it to 'privateold' now onto your wii (yay) DO NOT INSERT SD CARD NOW. Turn Wii on, Click Wii icon in the bottom right corner, Click on Data Management, then Channel's, Then on SD Card. Now your ready to insert your card... If your wii freezes, ITS OKAY. Get the next file from the second site on the list. Now, press yes. Then 1 when it says. Now Install Homebrew channel, you can install DVDX. I suggest you install BootMii as Boot2, as this can un-brick your Wii, if it ever Bricks it. Which i highly doubt it. Done it? Good. Now exit. YOUR ON THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL Once you finish being happy and looking at the floating bubbles, if you want to make a backup of your NAND go to the bottom of all this writing then come back up once finshed, if you do not want to make a backup of you NAND (which its highly recommended) click Trucha Bug Restorer. When it comes up Press B for no IOS reload READ AND WAIT then press a button when it comes up then go to downgrade IOS15. wait. once its done press a button to exit. Run Trucha Bug Restorer again (you only need to go on this one more time) Don't press B thanks. Choose IOS15 press A. WAIT. Press 1. Choose IOS36 menu. Then put all the settings as; Install IOS to slot 249. Hash check YES ES_identity YES Nand Permissions YES. then dont press A on the settings, go up to the top, and press A. Exit when done it wont take long. Open up WAD Manager, Choose IOS249, A, then press A again to open the SD WADS. Install NEOR6, then install IOS60 Once its done, press the Home button to exit back to The Homebrew Channel. Open up Trucha Bug Restorer one last time. Choose IOS249 then press A WAIT AGAIN Press 1. Choose RESTORE IOS15. WAIT, exit when done. YAY, FINALLY OVER. Open up CIOSrev13-a installer, i recommend you turn your TV down before opening >.< you will see why. Choose IOS249, and then choose WAD install, Press A. NAND BACKUP - Highly recommend you do this once you have installed Bootmii as Boot2 Great, you decided to then what you will need is a gamecube remote. power off your wii. Now with the SD Card in the Wii power on! WOW. look! ;D once you finish staring at your TV screen with the gamecube pad go to the Gears (It means Options) Click on the green arrow pointing at the SD Card picture. Follow what it says, YEY YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR NAND!!! ;D Back to the computer. You can now get rid of the folder APPS and WAD, then delete - IOS15-64-v266.wad IOS36-64-v3094.wad IOS15-64-v257.wad IOS38-64-v3610.wad Rename your privateold to private again. back up the other files to the PC incase your wii ever gets bricked. - edit: actually if you have any questions, reply to this thread, so its for everyone to see, and it helps me not anwsering the questions over and over again - a whole new world of homebrew awaits http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Main_Page ...Oh and your backup games ;D
Nice and detailed...but I think someone already made one of these in the "tutorial" section...almost the same as well.
the only one i saw was the twilight hack, could be mistaken :S but i didn't see any others EDIT: if your talking about 'hack a 4.0 wii system just came out' by sadboy, that tutorial is not the same. i got lost half way down the page, couldn't understand what he was on about :S
