    Hi

I put Wood firmware on my R4 with 2gb Micro SD as the original firmware wasn't loading games and it worked perfectly. I then upraded to a 4gb Micro SD HC card but I cannot even load firmware on my DS all I get is 'Loading...'

    Is anyone able to help?

    Thank you

Original R4 can not use MicroSD SDHC chips, Only 2GB microSD chip, are a rare "non sdhc" 4gb chip

How ever you can try this YSMenu build for R4 originals <- If this is what you have

See on this page, YSMenu v6.53.1 for R4 Originals Only + Softreset+ Latest iluvfupaburgers 03/06/2011 Cheats v24.0

No, R4 original doesn't support sdhc and this is the only disadvantage of this card.

I tried that and ended up with these in root...
    NDS Games (folder)
    TTmenu (folder)
    _DS_MENU.DAT
    R4BOOT.DAT

I put all my games inside NDS Games and started DS up but I'm presented with a black screen with the text Loading...

    Am I doing it right?

I didn't think it matters which R4 card version you had because everything is run from the SD card the R4 is just a way for the DS to access what is on the micro SD. That is what I thought anyway

If you did have an R4 original then them files should work no peoplem, Backup your games and saves , do a full format and try again

Use 2GB microSD only for R4 original card

If not then maybe you have a R4 clone, See if you can find a image of your R4 and post this link hear

    How to add image

    Code:
    [IMG] Paste Link Hear [/IMG]

    @smush

The firmware it should work 100% on that and that is a R4 original, Where you using the 2GB MicroSD chip ?

    I have the same type

SDHC MicroSD chips will not work on that, as the R4 dose not support SDHC MicroSD Chips

Ok and there isn't any firmware out that can make them work? I don't see why they wont work it's only SDHC.

No R4 original card dose not support that type of microSD chip, only 2GB microSD normal chips it dose!

R4 SDHC Clone cards support , 4GB SDHC MicroSD Chips

No problem!, YSMenu should be much better on your R4 original + 2GB microSD with the lastest games, up-to dat with Roms number 5596 <- Don't know why it should not when it dose.. weird XD!, Maybe a good format with PS SD Formatter

Basically you need a Card that will support SDHC micro SD type

R4 original came out long before, micro SD SDHC chips did, resion for not supporting that type of chip

Yes will have to order R4i SDHC Which I did but cancelled my order because I got my 1gb SD card working with Wood Firmware and then decided to get a bigger card but the only 4gb cards are all SDHC so will have to re-order that R4i SDHC. I'm guessing the 4gb micro sdhc I got will work in the R4i SDHC?

R4i SDHC are having a lot of teck issues with the updates firmwares
