    I have just downloaded a game and when it had downloaded i was told i had to BUY WINRAR why is this as i have been using this for a while.

    No, you don't have to "buy WINRAR". Download winrar and you can use the evaluation copy forever.

    Just ignore that message, although your trial is up you can still continue to use winrar as normal.

    winrar is also used as a multi-platform unzipper... there are many types of compression files, this kinda brings it into one domain/
