I have 7zip Because it is free. It works for most of what I need. Yet how is it different from WinRar, and can my 7zip combine files like WinRar?

Winrar is the best, supports heaps of archive formats. 7z should be able to do split files.

7zip has better compression. I still prefer .rar files, though, because they are slightly faster and more known.
