hey, i'm kinda wondering, and anyone who's helped me before should know i tend to fuck things up :'(, why does windows always freeze when i try to update...the process i take... 1. restart to finish installing updates... it says, preparing to configure windows, and freezes, 3.manual shutdown... 4. start windows normally... then it modifies the registry, then it reboots, and installs updates from 30%.... am i doing something wrong? hardware...it's posted everywhere OS: win 7 ultimate 64bit... if anyone knows why this could be happening, please, tell me....
Maybe you should give it time to update? I never have updated my systems at all. Well, I can't update my Windows OS' due to them missing the update manager and not being totally legal... But my Linux systems are no problem. :
it's legit....(am i safe here?) the serial isn't.....but i've used it before, and it always updated fine..... but yea, it's an MSDN disk.... i used 7loader to register, just like before, and it always updated properly....
You could have used a program to completely get rid of the Windows 7 activation and crap. Don't know if it allows you to update though. I will not say what it is. Google is your friend. (I was playing Portal for the first time and got into it. )
My copy of W7 updated perfectly, but I dont know about the slic or wat types as I aint used them.I did go onto Microsofts site once and downloaded a program that was supposed to be used for dual booting w7/xp and that collared me-but running a restore backup sorted that out.
windows update has a tendency to not work at times. I've not noticed it with win7 but ive seen it with xp a lot.
see if you can manually download and install the latest windows update client. Doing that has been known to fix persistent windows update problems.
