I set my folder options to "Show Hidden Folders...." then unchecked "Hide protected system files..." so I can go to my Flash Drive and delete the hidden .vbs script I got from school. After that, I minimized the window and noticed this: http://i37.tinypic.com/23tfbfa.png Is it safe to get rid of those files? [forgot to crop the image, sorry] First ini file: Code: [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21799 Second ini file: Code: [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21769 IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-183
H', That thing his very risky and not risky.. from my previous experience, That .vbs thingy is related to some kind of virus(I think). If you delete, it keeps coming back..worm perhaps.. so, the only way to format it is by formating.. you check your drive for any suspicious files using WInRAR too.. ;D
I have solved that matter on my own already and I had no need of reformatting the flash drive. It comes back because the computer where I got it from has the vbs script. My topic is about the desktop.ini files and if it is safe to delete them.
the desktop.ini files contain information about how your desktop is configured (background wallpaper, icon placements and stuff). they are harmless and will probably come back if you delete them.
