Hey guys I FINALLY BOUGHT A NEW LAPTOP. It has 4GB Ram, 512 Video, 500GB HDD, Core duo 2.2Ghz Compaq Presario and Windows 7 Home Premium

Ok so I have this USB wifi stick

    THIS ONE: http://www.wireless-driver.com/download/sagem/sagem-xg-703axg-702a-usb-wireless-adapter-windows-drivers-and-utility.htm

I downloaded the drivers and software for it.
PS: The wifi stick works PERFECT on the old comp with windows XP SP3

I install the software no prob on my laptop but each time I insert the WiFi stick it makes 3 low consecutive sounds and does not tell me that the new hardware was installed or anything. I go to the Hardware Manager and see that there is a yellow exclamation point over the USB stick I just inserted in the USB ports (tried all ports but still the same). I try activating it and deactivating it, I installed and unninstalled it several times but nothing. What can I do so that it instals it ?

PS: Thereßs an error message telling me that there is no driver for the USB WiFi stick installed but the software should have installed it. I tried installing the drivers manually by pointing the folder with them but it won´t do it.

    Any suggestions?

Just guessing,do you have to install the drivers by running as administrator and/or run the on w7 compatibility mode-for older os.

I am the administrator and i Jjust installed the software normally. What about the compatibility for older OS? do I have to switch it to an older one?

    Try Tiny7 on there.

It's Professional edition too, which has the highest compatibility.
While the Home Edition has the least compatibility. :\

    Ok.

It may be due to Win7 Home not having good compatibility with XP programs...

should I install the software by clicking Properties on the setup file and putting compatibility mode to XP?

you need windows 7 drivers if they exist. XP drivers cannot be used on W7

laptops virtually always have built in wifi so you shouldnt need a USB one.

lol talk about call of the lion.

Anyway I can´t get a signal of the person who I want with the laptop wi fi but only with the usb stick. The drivers stop the comnpatibility at vista and idk what to do ;_; ...I think I should install XP on another partition :p

That sounds like a waste to me...
If you're going to do that, then why not just make XP your main OS again?

changing OS cannot void your warranty.

Whether or not XP will support the hardware in the newer laptop or not is a different matter.

    You'll have your Wifi.

    And...it'll be slightly faster.
