My brother installed a retail copy of Windows7 on his PC yesterday, and now every time he boots it up, the wireless connection in the whole house stops working, but once he shuts it down, the signal comes back. The one wired PC is still connected to the internet though. Is there any fix for this?

I can't connect all the PC's to the router with wires because they're too far away, and there aren't enough ports

    Router:AT&T U-Verse 2WIRE router
Adapters: 1 Linksys and 2 Belkins.

the win7 PC is wireless, right? does it still have internet?

2wire routers are one of my pet hates, they're horribly unreliable and slow.

via windows 7 PC u need to add the other devices to the wireless network, "all devices turned on"
navigate to control panel then network & internet. the network and sharing center should solve problem. hope this helps

In no way am I going to help, I will giggle instead as the solution should have been handled by an operating system, go get one.

the windows 7 pc isn't controlling the wireless, the router is.

No the windows 7 PC doesn't have internet either

but the router wasn't my choice, it was AT&T who gave it to us and said we needed to use this particular one to use the service

try disabling IPV6 in the network connection properties on the W7 machine. the router probably cant handle IPV6 and its killing it.

is the router an n standard router?

with my experiance of n standard routers, when one person connects to the router that isn't using the n protocol it brings the whole router down to a lower spec.

decent N routers should be able to run both at the same time. regardless its not the problem here.
