    Hi all,
I recently installed W7 Eternity on my mum's laptop. She has a Compaq Presario c500 with a 1.86 Ghz intel Celeron M processor and 2gb of ram. She was previously running W7 Ultimate (32bit) and I upgraded (?) to W7 Eternity x86. Now when I go to launch Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox they both crash. That's not the major problem (because Chrome still works). The major problem is that now it doesn't connect nor acknowledge my wireless network. It can't scan or anything. I even plugged in the ethernet cable and nothing happened. I tried to downgrade (?
) to W7 Basic but it didn't work. I would preferably not format the computer if it is avoidable.

    Regards,
    Peter

P.S. I installed the driver for the W-LAN card and still nothing :(

I'd think a format is wise....just backup the contents to be sure.

    Also was it legally bought?

If not, did you download some updates?

KB971033-Apparently if pirated you gotta avoid that one.

    From what I heard..:
It will damage your Windows copy and so your computer...
Not sure if it's true, though.

Windows 7 Eternity isn't a pirated version. It overloads your graphics card, yet allows for better memory usage. You also need a dual core processor to handle programs properly, and since Chrome is so light, it is easy to handle.

How you should have installed it:
You have to create a new partition, boot the disk from BIOS, then format the other partition and combine the unallocated space with the normal space. If you didn't do this, your computer is messed up.

Well that clears a few things up.
    1st. I didn't boot from the BIOS
    2nd. I didn't partition
3rd. It doesn't have a Dual Core processor.

In the end I used a W7 Ultimate recovery disk therefor I didn't lose my mum's stuff.
    Thanks everyone.

No problem. One thing you have to do, is read the description of the torrent CAREFULLY.

I can help you dual boot Eternity. PM me if you wanna.
