Will a save file from a patched game work on an unpatched game?

I downloaded Pokemon Black awhile ago, and back then, I didn't have a SCDS2. I had to patch the game.

Now that the English version is out, I was wondering if the save file will work. I can run it clean.

 

Yes the save should work, Just rename and "match" the name with the (E) ROM with .sav

Once in game play just over ride the original save

So patching doesn't change how the save file is created?

 

Should not think so, that is why when i mentioned to Override save, Once game has loaded into game play so it will gave it fresh data to continue from
