Wii USB Ports Malfuctioning

Hey. I had just downloaded The Beatles Rockband for the Wii and put it onto my external hardrive to load it with a USB Loader. I got the game to work okay except I cannot use any of the peripheral devices (Guitar, Drums, Mic). I use the right USB port for the HDD already and that port is working fine, it is the left port that doesn't work for anything, but surprisingly I can still charge my iPod with it. I tried the left port with my actual copy of Rockband 2 in hopes that the USB Loader had something to do with it but no. It still didn't work. Does anyone have any idea of what happened and how I can fix it? ???
