Speculated Spec (Hexus.Net):
Wii U Daily reveals that Nintendo's next-gen console will house a quad-core, 3GHz PowerPC-based 45-nanometer CPU, very similar to the Xbox 360's 3.2GHz triple-core PowerPC processor.

Other details reveal that Nintendo may be testing two versions of the console, one with 768MB of embedded DRAM and one with 1GB, with both sporting an unknown ATI-based graphics processor chip. If true, Nintendo’s next-gen console may have the edge over Xbox 360 and PS3 in terms of raw processing power.

In addition to the 6.2in screen, the new controller also features an accelerometer and a gyroscope, a rumble feature, an inward-facing camera, a microphone and speakers. These features come in addition to the Classic Controller button scheme – two analog Circle Pads, +Control Pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, L/R buttons and ZL/ZR buttons.

Of course, we don’t know what Nintendo has officially planned just yet and Wii U Daily claims that these leaked details date back to March 2011, so a lot may have changed since then.

    E-Book Function (Attackofthefanboy.com):
Rumors have already suggested that Nintendo's Wii U tablet controller will perform various functions, but today, you can add e-reader to that list of applications that it may be used for. A new rumor comes from a software developer with ties to "Forget the Box", who says that he was approached by Nintendo to port iOS software to the upcoming console.

What will this software do? Apparently, Nintendo wants their tablet controller to give users access to digital literature across both the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS devices. In the rumored details, the developer suggests that Nintendo may be looking to push digital instruction manuals to the reader, as well as game guides, and its official monthly magazine: Nintendo Power.

It's hard to tell how accurate these rumors are, but they do go hand in hand with one that detailed Nintendo's push for an App Store like service, which would allow Wii U users to download standalone applications to be used on the controller. Is Nintendo making a push into the tablet marketplace with the Wii U? If the rumors turn out to be even partly true, it looks like this could be a big part of their focus with this next generation console.

The Wii U will be on display at CES later this month, and also rumored for a big re-reveal at E3 2012. Nintendo has also said that the Wii U is still on track for a 2012 release date.
E-Book Function 2 (Slashgear.com):
Nintendo is reportedly not only preparing an app store for the Wii U, the company’s next-gen console scheduled for launch this year, but an ebook platform for distributing game guides, digital magazines and more. The company has already approached publishers and developers about the Wii U ereader store, ForgetTheBox‘s source claims, and is considering offering its back-catalog of out of print “Players Guides” for titles like Super Mario World free to download to Wii U gamers.

They would supposedly accompany electronic user guides for downloadable console classics, in addition to back issues of Nintendo Power, the formerly official magazine. Also under consideration is content from Prima Games, the publisher responsible for current official strategy guides, though that would be paid content rather than free to download.
The Wii U is said to be scheduled for release sometimes near the end of 2012, although some claim that it is due around mid 2012. Anyway, this post just quotes various info that I find somewhat potentially interesting to share. :p

However, what are your expectation about it? Especially knowing that Nintendo would then be juggling between maintaining the "just released" 3DS, and the upcoming Wii U. Which is not only bigger in screen size, but also has 2 circle pad instead of the single circle pad on the 3DS. How would you also size it with the PS Vita, ebook reader, or any popular tablet pc on the current market?
