Ill be setting up a Wii console on Christmas Eve and am wondering about the following. 1.Is there anything I shouldn't do.Does it ask you to update? 2.Ill be looking to soft-mod it in the near future.Ive glanced at a couple of guides and a Zelda game and Gamecube remote are mentioned.Do I need them? I dont know what version it is as its not getting taken out of the box yet.Once I find out what version it has I will come back and ask if theres a good guide for my version cheers
1.Once you mod your console avoid updating it 2.The zelda guide is no longer valid as they patched that over, but smash brother brawl might still work, though best hope a new expoloit comes about. You only need a gamecube controller if you plan on playing gamecube games on the system. There might be guides in the tutorial section, but some might be out dated, all I know is the current system firmware is 4.2 and if the console comes with that it's ok (working wise). If it's not, because you will need to go there eventually, be careful as you can damage the system (as this firmware is unstable despite being an official one). I'm not an expert here as my system is stock, however I have done some small research as I was considering this myself.
My Wii is stock (and it's staying that way!) but I've heard of bannerbomb ( http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/ if my BBCode doesn't work correctly, i'm using the quick reply and am used to phpBB's BBCode...)
