The Resident Evil franchise is one that is very popular among multiple type of players. RE is my favorite Survivor Horror franchise ;D and Umbrella Chronicles delivers. Just like a few of the other games of this franchise they tried something new and succeeded. Though some parts and mechanisms of the game could be adjusted or improved the game is good nontheless. The amount of playable characters and the multiple stories are a great addition. I, like many RE junkies am waiting for the release of RE 5, in the meantime I have gone back in time and began playing RE 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, Code Veronica and Umbrella Chronicles . I recommend this game to those who like RE as well as First Person Arcade Style gameplay.

    Presentation 9/10
The title screen says it all "Chronicles" which explores and tells the story of the demise of Umbrella and the nightmares of the "T-Virus". I liked the way they begin the game with Zero and you move along to 1, 3 and so forth. The First Person Arcade Shooter perspective catches you by surprise when you first begin, but within a few minutes you get used to it. The game goes on a rail and there are multiple enemies jumping at you. The implementation and button configuration of the game is outstanding. The beauty of this game is multiple pathways throughout levels and replayability. The amount of cameos or characters is also a plus of this game as well as playing old levels in a new perspective.

    Graphics 8/10
The graphics for what the Wii can push out were great. Though some parts or some cutscenes it seemed as though not a lot of detail was put in. The lighting and detail of the levels was great. There are many breakable objects that reveal items and hidden missions. That was another plus of the game the the attention to detail. Most lights can be busted or dressers blown to pieces and the detail of them being broken is great. The enemies too were well rendered and very detailed.

    Sounds 9/10

Just like every other RE title sound plays a big role in this game, not soo much as the others due to the lack of controllability of your character but it's there. The enemy sounds and environment make for a well situated obscure atmosphere. Just what you would expect out of RE.

    Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay is outstanding considering the big change in gamplay. I have not used the Zapper I only have used the Wiimote but it plays well. The aiming is on point and the action button sequences give you more to master. The arrangement of weapons and upgradeability is outstanding. The rail gameplay does get a bit annoying at times because one is so used to controlling the way the character would go. Another problem with the gameplay that is minor but there is the "look" implementation. The "look" is where you use the nunchuck analog stick to look around, it's hard to look around because your constantly on the move and sometimes it doesn't reach far enough left or right to pick up an item you saw that you missed. Just like other Arcade Shooters every enemy has a weakpoint that you have to find if you want to kill them faster. Sometimes it works because all you need is a precise shot to it, sometimes the enemy moves too much that you just have to lay it on him. Regardless of the big change in gameplay, this game plays very well and it's easy to get used to. The two player option is there but I have not had the chance to use it as I have no friends so I cannot comment on it. The only thing I can say is that if it plays the same as the one player option then I bet it's great.

    Lasting Appeal 9/10
This game is great because it answers some of the questions that we might have had throughout the RE series as well as new explanations of others. It has great gameplay and replay value, something fun for those casual players to do and alot to uncover for those hardcore RE junkies. One great thing that this game does is that it is not a "New" chapter per say, it is replay of old ones with "New" ideas/tales. This is a game that I will definately leave in my collection and continue playing until RE 5 and even after RE 5.

    Total Score - 44/50
    Out of ten - 8.8/10

it is actually a new chapter. would you consider metal gear solid 3 snake eater a new chapter or a replay of old ones? i understand that you are replaying resident evil zero, 1,3 and code veronica but it also explains the untold stories. it explains wesker, rebecca, ada and the eventual aftermath of code veronica as well as the existance of the virus. in addition, it also introduces new characters and events.
