Hello people hopefully someone will read this post and be able to help me. Here it is a long story short. I have a modded Wii console. I want to make back up disks of games I own. My current DVD burner / drive (installed in my computer) will not read Wii games. I have been told that only a certain type of DVD drives can read Wii games. If you know of a brand and model number that will work or if you have one for sale (payment thru Paypal only) let me know. I really appreciate any help Crudeone :-*
LG-8164b LG-8163b LG-8162b LG-8161b are the drive models that you can do it with but it is more complicated then just ripping it normally you need to use raw dump
You can apparently backup wii or gamecube games by linking it to a computer via network cable-once the wii has the right software and the pc with matching software as well. I only wish I knew the tools (Any burner can burn these games-but only those LG one's would be able to read them)
yes the 4 lg drives work well but must be installed on ide master, the software you need is either rawdump 2.0 or hektograph from hektosoft to rip the game. if raw dump finds the lg drive then its straight forward rip a raw file then convert to iso then burn using imgburn, if you modded with a chip like drivekey you can burn on any disc but if softmodded the you have to use -R. i use hektograph but this burns a ngc file then i have to convert it to iso with isobuster then burn with imgburn, its a lengthy process but worth it for the cost of games. Hope this helps
The simpliest way to make backups is to use the Wii HTTP Dumper Insert disc, start the prog with hbc, type the Ip of the Wii in the Internet Browser on your PC, download, burn. Gratulation, youve made a backup.
