Wii DVD Support

What kind of DVDs do Wii's support? DVD+/-R(W)?

 

I would assume dvd- like what they advise people to do with ps2 disc...

(Note that I use dvd+ with my ps2, but for my gamecube I use dvd-, only because that's all I can get in bulk from costco )

So dvd- it is.

 

Any other opinions?

 

I can say from personal experience that DVD+R's do NOT work with a Wii.

It only supports DVD-R's.

DVD DL- to be exact.

...but we need to double check that, i know some games like smash bros brawl may need it.

 

MPT and brawl need it, but you need layer break in order to burn them and that they run,also you cant run games from homebrew channel or via CIO's, etc., you need your wii modded, with a last gen chip, i had a wiiw hen it came out, and it was chiped, recent games dint worked, sended my console so the chips were exchanged, and now it read nearly all games, i need to see if my mac is compatible with DL and DL-, BTW wiisos is from were i learnt that stuff, sadly its only for spanish talkers.

 

What about SoftMii? It loads Wii backups from DVD.

And from USB as well. And it's FREE by the way.
