i am new to this and was wondering if this is as simple as downloading the rom to a dvd and can i play it on my modded wii or save to a external hard drive through my wii thank you for any and all help on this
Hi, I'm new too, to get them to run you have to install Home Brew Chanel and USB loader you then save the ROMs to an external HDD and then play them, it sounds complicated but if you read lots and get all the correct software you will manage it.
To use a downloaded ROM on your Wii, it needs to have HomeBrew installed on it as well as a HomeBrew app such as USBLoaderGX (https://sourceforge.net/p/usbloadergx/wiki/Installation/) or WiiFlow (https://sites.google.com/site/wiiflowiki4/installing-wiiflow). Since you said it is modded, I assume it's all good already. If your external HDD is formatted as NTFS, then you can just drag the folder of the ROM into the "games" folder of your hard drive. If it is formatted as WBFS, you need to use a program on your computer such as Wii Backup Manager (http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/) or WBFS Manager (https://wbfsmanager.codeplex.com/) although WBFS Manager is apparently shutting down.
