Have you modified your Wii console at all? Without a modded Wii, it won't be able to play downloaded games.
If it is modified, I believe a good DVD burning software is all you need. And a quality DVD-R (not RW). IMGBurn is a good one. www.imgburn.com

I don't know the exact details, but I think there is a USB loader for Wii ISOs as well, if your system is modded.

dont you need a special dvd burner for it?
or is that for reading disks?

I think it's for reading. But I know very little about Wii-Backups and Wii Modding.

    It's for reading. Not burning.
    An Gecko, am I right?

To burn a Wii game, use the program ImgBurn and burn the Wii ISO at 4x speed for maximum quality onto a non-cheap DVD-R.
    -Download ImgBurn here.

You MUST mod your Wii in order to play download/burned games.
-USB Loader GX is my preferred USB loader.
-ULoader is what I use to play disc games.
    -Some Wiis can't read DVD-R.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO MOD YOUR WII!!

If your Wii's serial number is LU7306 or higher, then you will NOT be able to play DVD-R's on your Wii.
You will only be able to play from USB if your Wii Serial Number is the same or higher than LU7306.
-Check your Wii Drive Number on this great page. Actually read it. :p

In order to mod your Wii, you will need a good hacking guide and need to know your System Menu number.

Checking your Wii System Menu number.
    -Turn on your Wii.
-Go to the Wii icon in the lower-left-hand corner of your screen.
    -Go to System Settings.
-Your Wii System Menu Number is on the upper-right-hand corner of your screen.
--For example, my Wii System Menu number is 4.2U.

    Wii Hacking.

-If your Wii is 3.1-4.1, then use this guide to hack your Wii.

-If your Wii is 4.2, then use this guide to hack your Wii.

If you need any help with modding your Wii, I have done a few myself and helped MANY people mod their Wiis. I just modded my friend's last night in under 30 minutes. :)

Just let me know if you need any help. :)

No not really, the process would be simerlar to gamecube.

The disc themselves, official or self burnt, can't be read on a pc (same for iso's) because of the way they are made.

However, the iso's can still be burnt and providing the console is modded, run the disc :)

Just make it lowest speed, use img burn, and you should be alright unless the cd burner has issues.

    Exactly Hypnos. :)

The Wii discs can't be read by a normal DVD drive, and that's why you must dump the Wii games onto a USB drive through the Wii and then extract the ISO image and burn it to DVD-R if you are doing your own dump.

We got a CD player with the ability to read those mini discs, it's quite old though, don't know if it still works.

Just because they fit in it, and it can read normal mini DVDs or CDs doesn't mean it could read GC disks.

But you don't need to read them, just burn them. But you'll need to soft mod your Wii.

True... What software do you need to read Wii ISOs?

Wii ISOs are just an ISO image file.
No different than a DVD ISO or an ISO of a CD/DVD game.

But for an original Wii Game DVD, a normal DVD drive won't cut it.

You need to be able to play Wii games from USB.

-You will need cIOS222 rev5 installer from Hermes.
-You need Wifi in order to do this update.
-Run the installer through the Hombrew Channel, and install cIOS202, cIOS222, cIOS223, and cIOS224.
-Insert your Wii game disc into your Wii.
-Harddrive/Flashdrive must be partitioned in WBFS format. This can be done in Uloader.
-Insert a reasonably sized Flashdrive or Harddrive into the left USB port. The right port is for power.
-Launch Uloader or USB Loader GX.
-Install the Wii game onto the USB drive.
-Use WBFS manager to extract the dumped game onto your computer to burn the dumped ISO to a DVD-R.

And that's how to dump a Wii game. If you were curious. :)

NO. lol, I wasn't. I just could not read my last chance unbrick disc... I tried mounting it on Daemon tools, but it says "DVD is corrupt". I also tried extracting the ISO, but it would not let me. I probably just have a bad dump...

    Re-Download it.
    Perhaps that will help.
