Right mostly every Rom comment box people are going on about how the rom isn't working and "what should i do please help me" It even says at the bottom we have a Forum for HELP. I was browsing through games i haven't a clue what half of them are because people are going on about their version needs to be patched. I never need any help, it seems loads of people are, fair enough, but put in forums not in comment box. Does anyone else agree? I'd Ban you for a day if you posted asking for help instead of helping us understand games more, and you would get another 2 days if you do it again and so on. I dont think this is harsh, because its at the bottom in black as i noted above.
We will start deleting comments again soon, right now we just don't have the admin features to monitor them easily, making the last user features work first before I start doing that. It annoys us as well.
Some people re just plain ignorant, they feel that because we run the site that we should make their games work, and obviously its our fault if they wont run. Also extreme lazyness, why go into the forum when you can put a comment on the page your already on. Sometimes its way too much effort to click the mouse to a new page /sarcasm.
I have to agree with Almo on this one. Remember when I was new then on the contests section I suggested that as for a prize you should give away autographed photos of Square-enix's top brass, then loony answered "how will we get autographed pictures of Square-enix's top brass?". People who go to RomUlation, especially the new guys, really think that we're connected with these game developers/publishers & as such they also believe that we can & should solve their game issues right then & there. The laziness factor also holds true.
funnily enough, your idea might still happen, I'm not giving anything away, but some of the features we have in the pipeline may make things like this a realistic possibility.
At least it's better than them posting several duplicate topics, it's good though that even the newcomers check out the comments if it doesn't work. New FFCC, only received one topic so far which is a lot better than the time when the first FFCC came out.
I like that people post patch info in the comments. It's always the first place I look before I download a game. If I'm going to use my R4, I want to know if the game needs an arm7 fix. If it's a Japanese release, I want to know if there's a translation patch in the works, or if the game has an English language option. Aside from posting quick synopses and descriptions of the games, I find comments on ROM issues to be the most helpful thing about the comments section. Now the whining about ROMs not working without any contribution to a fix for the problem (or at least a description of your cart and firmware on which the ROM isn't working and how it's not working), that crap can go. As far as I'm concerned, that's needless spam.
