Why does everyone hate Halo?

I want an actual reason of which "because it sucks" is not.
I can't find anything terrible about it.

 

i like halo, its fun, and adicting since itsfuturistic, single player can even be epic!! but my opinion is that people hate halo becuase multiplayer is not as fast paced and intense as call of duty, there is not much customization in weapons like call of duty. almost everyone i know that play call of duty, hate halo for these reasons basically, oh, and the controls, they are not like every fps. i personally enjoy more call of duty multiplayer

 

The controls are extremely similar to every console FPS, in fact it was the first FPS on the console to have the dual analogue control scheme (if you're not counting Goldeneye and Perfect Dark's 2.1 control schemes).

A lot of people hate Halo because there's been better before it and because it's unoriginal. Also because it feels more generic than most shooters.

 

I play both online and find theyre both equally good.
Halo for the casual multiplayer gamers and CoD ofr the hardcore multiplayer gamers

 

the controls are similar, but like, reload is right bumper, while im kinda used for reload being the X button. so its knda unconfortable, i havent played reach beta, but i believe they changed it, not sure. also, story has been used before on games, like starcraft, marathon, about 3 races fighting, future time. but it is still a good game, specially the music, love the soundtrack for halo

 

I find it the same as most other FPS...

 

i know they are the same, basically, it mustonly be me, this problem, like reloading, its different from many fps, in halo you use right bumper while in other fps, its usually x button (Xbox 360), or [] button (ps3), and when your playing, you dont really think about this and hit x and do something else, and probably die becasue of it

 

Isn't it possible to change the controls?

 

I prefer shooting games with actual weapons that are real and not futuristic.

The "legacy" setting is what I prefer in the first, just like golden eye...I wish we could use it now but alot of games removed it.

 

what?! i looked everywhere for control settings!

 

I hate halo because halo 3 was so hyped up it was supposed to be game of the decade. the best game ever!
when i got it home i was in shock, i could name 20 better games that decade just off the top of my head. and plenty from the decade before.
