Why do people hate Mario (the game character ofcourse)

There are some people who just can't stand Nintendo's chubby plumber, but why?

I myself fell in love with Mario when I first played with him on Super Mario Bros. when I was nine, it was love at first jump ;D

But my love for the mustached dude turned to hate when Nintendo gave him that goofy Italian Mickey Mouse-ish voice, it was just disgusting .

And Mario sounded like a retard with his "WOOO", "YAAAH" & "YIPEE" shouts, Mario was dumbed down. Sure he was an Italian plumber from Brooklyn, but why make him sound like a Pizzaria mascot? He would have been cooler if they gave him a "Godfather-ish" style voice, saying things like "Come back here yoose mugs" or "Time to sleep with the fishies Bowser!". The Mario voice on the old Mario cartoons would have sufficed though.

 

I think it's more YEHAA!!!

 

Yeah those sounds are in Super Mario 64, Mario is wicked. "WHOA", "WHOO" "YAHA", it's like that

I don't know why people would hate him, he is such an icon.
I guess if you hate all things Nintendo, then you'd hate Mario. can't think of anyother reasonable reasons to hate Mario. Other than it could be hate at first sight, it happens.

 

Mario is someone that make me feel I would punch him in the face and feel like he deserve it, dont know why, just do.

i did play partners in time and loved it! i don't know what is it that is there to hate.

people hate it because some of the elements used in the game were symbols of communism as well as other representations. you can get some of these crazy ideas by searching the world wide web.

i think people don't like him because he is often revived and is often successful at it [it is probably the most successful mascot ever developed from a game company]. all the mario games are successful and are not stricted to platforming only. some of the sonic games are not successful. can you imagine rachet and clank doing soccer or basketball or baseball?? what about crash bandicoot or maybe god of war, prince of persia, etc....

 

Well really super mario sunshine was the only mario game I hated. I do not like the water pump fluud I think the game looked more like a chore for me :-\.

 

Well to Me being a Italian Pumber who saves the world.....NO thanks like I've seen worst characters saving the world tho but saving the world with Spaggeti and Pizza? Even Sonic is better D:

I hate Mario because he is mediocre in almost every game that he is in.
Even in the old Super Mario Kart days, he was the middle guy. The guy that doesn't have sick acceleration or top speed. He is just mediocre.
Mario Tennis, same idea.
The only game I can think of that he was mildly good in was Mario Golf 64, mainly because he was already unlocked with a good drive (270y).
Even in Super Smash Bros/Melee/Brawl, he has NOTHING special. Even Luigi (a semi-clone) outdoes him. Higher jumps, nice sweet Up-B and a much better Smash Ball special.

He pretty much reminds me of a stem cell, unspecialized. That, and the freelancer job in Final Fantasy III DS (unspecialized, but generally low stats)
Up against other opponents that have better speed or power just destroy him because he doesn't have any good counters to them. Power hitters like Ike and Ganondorf can easily manage against Mario because he isn't fast like Sonic or any of the Starfox types. Up against speedy guys, Mario is too slow.

oh yeah and for every time I tell him to jump, he doesn't.

 

Being an old school gamer, I can say beyond any reasonable doubt that Mario was ONLY in his prime at Super Mario Bros. 3, he had so much power then, although flying with the aid of a racoon's tail was idiotic

 

Super Mario Bros 3 is the best mario game of all time.

I think people might hate mario because he is so popular and is everywhere. You sometimes hate popular people because you are jealous, or seen them too much. HAHA (although I dont know why people would be jealous of mario)

 

BTW if you want to replace Mario try playing Super Marissa Land.

Sonic Saves the day by Running around With the --> Botton pressed Like is he was a super car or somthing and worse yet he also thinks he is a SuperSayin (SSJ) Turning his Shade-less hair gold. Mario had his own unique style that if you ask me has yet to be copyed.

Mario is The only character that can revive as many times as he wants and will be successfull.

100% Agreed. i Loved and Still Do and Still Play SuperMario 3. i play it everyday on my DS. yet. iv played it for so long (Since i was 3 on the NES) and i have yet to Finnish it.

LOL !! Iv had those times. Pissed me off and broke my only NES Controler. had to steal myself an other 1. and i got court but they still gave it me because i was Cute.
