Why cant we just switch them to .nds files and play? Or use an emulator? I can use a real explanation becouse I really have no idea why.
Part of the problem is the lack of RAM. All GBA carts have onboard RAM, while DS cards don't. The main issue is the fact that slot-1 cards can't be accessed in GBA mode. Each slot uses a completely separate data bus, so a very complicated physical hardware mod would be required for it to be possible. There are surely many other factors which lead to the failure of GBA emulation of Slot 1 cards. Sadly, I'm not very knowledgeable in the field. Though, I am certain the above stated is one of the causes. Also, I (though not sure) would assume that a .gba whos extension was changed to .nds would not work because of the different kind of encoding. Though, that's just an inference. Or rather, a guess.
They are two different types of images designed to be used on different hardware. The only real solution would be to emulate or translate a GBA binary (in a hypervisor example) that can be natively used with the Slot 1.
But no-one so far has done that right. I have heard of past endevors failing. Must be diffucult to do
Ram is one of a few factors-but it's the biggest challenge. If you want it to happen-act. learn programming and see if you can work it out-seems people have given up or trying other projects. I'd learn but lack the time to bother.
Is it possible to play GBA games on Acekard2i (NDS Lite and I have got the GBA Expansion Pack). I was used to load them straight from the menu when I had M3DS Real, but it doesnt work on Acekard2i.
I have the 2.1-same model but without the dsi compatibility. It should work with the expansion pak-ezy 3 in 1 flash card. ...got any aditional details-with the card inserted i can boot them off the menu like a ds game. Don't see why you can't.
