Why can't people accept defeat?

So I finally got a wifi connection and I started playing mario kart DS in world wide mode. I noticed that the people I was playing against already had a 1:2 win ratio. I lost the first race because my right button messed up, but I won all the other races.

But in the last race, everyone dropped out right before I was about to win. I don't understand why this happens. They had nothing to lose and would have been better off just resetting their save file.

This happens in a few other games too.

The title states why won't people accept defeat and that person is you. You lost a race but make an explanation saying your right button messed up. It may be true but that is the same mindset of why the people would quit when you are winning.

No, no, I kept playing after that race. I was just telling a story there.

But I don't understand how they would both have problems on the last race.

 

Do they have rankings?
On ufc 2009 whenever someone was about to get beat they pulled the plug out so it didn't affect their online record. That was the worst game ever to play online, i never bother anymore after that experience, its put me off completely.

it does happen in cod6 with is 4 years older so it is very easy to happen just my thoughts

Yeah, it tracks your wins and loses. I don't think they have leaderboards though.

BTW, that R button story isn't an excuse.

I'll stop snaking now. I kind of got used to that tactic after I had to play single player for all this time.

I'm sorry, but why are snakers crappy racers? The goal of the game is to come in first.

 

exactly because if you did race properly u might beat me but if you snake i beat you

because they are either noobs that got lucky that they actually did somehing or they want to be the best in the freaking world, even though they know that they can't.

If you get beat by snakers deal with it, they beat you.

 

this is like CODMW2, the noob tubers, i hate them, but you just have to accept it because its part of the game, its not like they where doing something the game is not supposed to do, or some illegal move, or something
