Which Squaresoft/enix game is the best?

I reckon Final Fantasy VII from the FF Franchise is the best. Great storyline and gameplay. Second for me is probably FFVI, third Chrono Cross, fourth Chrono Trigger. What do you guys think?

Cant argue with FFVII & VI. Two of the greatest games ever made.

I enjoy FF9 and FF5 more than others. I could never get in to FF7's story line. I can't argue with Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, if that one counts. It's one of my favorite RPG's of all time.

after a certain final fantasy game every other final fantasy just falls down [there is no interest in it]. of course the only reason for playing them was for the visual, just wanting to see how it would look in a better 3d environment instead of looking at ff in a poor 3d environment.

ff 7and 8 are quite modest, especially 7 ;D. The material system in 7 is great, as it's easy to handle.

chrono trigger was awesome, as it offered multiple endings based on what you do here and there as well as having the ability to combine powers but not like in phantasy star 4.

secret of evermore, breath of fire, lufia, persona, parasite eve, vagrant story, xeno, etc... [i'm not even sure if some of the listed are even square/enix] i haven't played because i'm preoccupied with playing on modern stuff or often replaying old stuff. i'm definitely interested in secret of evermore and brainlord [a game by enix before the merger].

definitely squares use of nintendo's franchise to develop games are awesome, especially super mario rpg legend of the 7 stars. the best game ever released by square, but now they "sponsor" sony. but of course that may change.

Yes Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars counts, that's actually a pretty fun game.

I agree ffvi,ffvii and the two chrono series.. although i was unable to finish chrono cross but i still like it..

how about suikoden(konami)has anyone here tried to play it??

Final Fantasy Tactics (for PSX)... hands down, a masterpiece from the Squaresoft "B" team. Second would be FFVII, Chrono Trigger.

^__^ actaully suikoden and final fantasy are the two best titles for me.
actually i played suikoden 1,2,3,4,5,tactics an i also tried suikoedn card game on gba but it sucks..

then ion final fantasy, i played final fantasy 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,7(DOC)8,9,10,10-2,12,12(RW) tactics,tactics advance

cant wait for the psp version and for the ds too
but coded is on mobile... i dont have any phone that can support that game just like the lost episode of DOC
it breaks my hearts and makes my tears flowing >.<

Every Final Fantasy game is awesome except for Crystal Chronicals on the Gamecube. It was okay, but I got bored of it quickly.

I hated Final Fantasy V though, not because of the jobs because I'm used to that in FFIII but I couldn't really get into it as much as the other games. A random thing, I let my friend who also likes FF play my FFIII game and he couldn't seem to work how to attack and use magic etc. with all the different jobs. And then he says "It's gay" and I'm like "Hmm, you sure?"
