Which ROM is unaltered?

    Sometimes when I download a ROM rar file theres a lot of files inside. How do I know which one is the unaltered original game?

    oh, yeah, i remember it. all of them work, but some are hacks. i remember i once played pokemon red, but with sonic instead of ash. :p

    there's a file that has an exclamation mark (!) only. that is the unaltered file.
