    Hiya :D
There's these two Netbooks I want, I can get them both very cheap, but not sure which one to get.
    MSI N280: ~$550 Australian
    Specs here

    MSI U115: ~$500 Australian
    Specs here

Just want your opinion, and no "GET <insert other netbook here>" or "GET A LAPTOP INSTEAD!"
    Thanks guys!

Well the MSI wind U114 had exceptional battery life (around 15 hours), so the u115 might be similar

Well the chipset in the N280 (model number is actually wind u123), is one that is well known for being a battery killer (i.e. it draws about 2-3 times as much power as the processor does).

The second one i think is better, but it really depends on what your looking for in the netbook

I'm guessing with the netbook you're looking for more battery life/power? If so, the U115's processor is a bit older, lower FSB, and clock speed, so the battery life will be a bit higher due to the lesser amount of power needed to run it. The U123 (Also posted by you as the N280) is a bit more recent processor, with a 1.66Ghz clock speed and a 667Mhz FSB. Because of this, many people say the battery life is a LOT less compared to the U115.

Personally, 533 to 667 Mhz is a noticeable enough difference in speed along with the 1.6 to 1.66Ghz. A .06 may not seem like much, but for a netbook and especially alongside 667Mhz FSB, the speed would be comparably faster as opposed to the 1.6 and 533Mhz U115. It really depends on what you want. More battery life, or better performance?

    Battery: U115
    Performance: U123 (AKA N280) :) Happy Netbooking!

    Thanks guys :D
Yeah, I know, it was listed as the N280 on the website I was gonna buy it off =="
But yeah, if anyone else wants to give me some tips, drop a comment, :D
So far, leaning towards the U115.

Its a netbook right? meaning you will be mostly using it for browsing and some typing jobs, if so, then i'll still go for more battery life... if your netbook is for performance, meaning you are using it for more than browsing and typing, then the netbook is not for you.

A netbook was made not for heavy usage, it was made for a light-weight portable computer usage, so battery life is more important than performance in my book.

    Er, kay.
Could I get a poll added to this topic?
    Which netbook should I get:
    a) MSI Wind U123 (N280)
    b) MSI Wind U115
    Thanks :)
