Among the following Megaman series/franchises, which one do you like the most?

    1. The "Original" Megaman
    2. X Series (Including the Z Series, as that's an alternate reality version that sprouted after Megaman X 6, with X 7 as the alternate route & X Command Missions a direct follow up before X 8)
    3. Megaman Legends
    4. Megaman ZX
    5. The Battle Networks & Star Force Series.

First off let me explain about option 2. If you've played & finished Megaman X 6 on the PSOne, you'll know what I'm talking about. If you beat the game with Zero, you get the ending where he undergoes stasis hibernation & MUST wait for a hundred years before his powers fully regenerate, which leads to the events on Megaman Zero's first game. If you beat the game with X, Zero doesn't undergo his long nap & follows the plot for X 7.

Now, as for my favorite "Megaman", it's got to be the "original", not because he was the original, but because of the series' plot. If you haven't realized it, or not even know him, Megaman was in fact a loose rip off of Astroboy. Megaman was an android, that was made in the shape of a boy. I know this for a fact, because I played the Japanese version on my FamiCom. Unlike the stupid western interpretation of Megaman as a teenager, see this YouTube video Stupid American "Megaman", where as the Japanese Rockman was a kid Japanese Rockman 8 Intro, yeah I know it's just the Japanese version of Megaman 8's intro, but you get the picture.

Plus what's funny is that the plagiarism had gone full circle, as the remake of Astroboy was obviously ripped off from Megaman, with Astroboy's AstroBuster or what the Anime called his, super Plasma arm cannon, yeah right! ;D

Megaman Legends was the best for me. All the other Megaman games were bad.

ZX like Advent was nice, so that's my pick :)

Megaman 1 through 6 was awesome, things just became bothersome after 7, because they upped the challenge, so does 8, Megaman & Bass was awesome, because like the later X series you get to play either Megaman or Bass which was cool, but it was rather difficult though.

The Megaman Zero series on GBA were really awesome hey. Wow. I enjoyed them but Megaman has always been really hard game. At least I suck at it lol.
So the Zero series would be my favourites. However, I will never forget the original Megaman. The one with Cutman, Elecman etc. I remember playing those when I was like 5 or 6. Those were awesome. I also enjoyed the Megaman Battle Network series on the GBA. The first few were fun but then things got pretty repetitive. The N64 Action RPG game was cool too but I forgot what it was called. Megaman X Command Mission for PS2 was a solid RPG too.
    So clearly I'm a Megaman fan..lol :)

The N64 Megaman adventure was a port of Megaman Legends. Now that's a weird Megaman for you, what was he supposed to be?

Sure he was a Megaman Purifier" model, but what was he? An android? A robot? But he clearly had human characteristics.

That is true. I'm a little unclear on that as well. Maybe they should explore that a little more. I hope on the DS they release an anniversary edition like the one that was supposed to come out on the GBA with all the old games in one. That would be so cool. I know this is off topic but is there a Megaman anime? I'm looking for one that is preferably less aimed for children and rather more geared towards older audiences.

Oh by the way, thanks Cahos for reminding me how awesome Megaman was 8)

There are several Megaman cartoons, both in the past & in the present.

If you read my original post, there is a link to the 90's Megaman cartoon from America that sucked. In Japan, there was a Megaman X OVA & there's Megaman Battle Networks as well. And I heard tale that there was also an Anime of the original Megaman as well, from Japan.

Why don't you go to Youtube & try a search on "Rockman, instead of Megaman.

Megaman Legends for the PS1 and Megaman 64 are the exact same game. Megaman Legends 2 was harder but much more fun then MML. I just wish they made a Megaman Legends 3, because so many unanswered questions remained at the end.

    i liked megaman x from 1-4 only. i didn't like how 5-6 were made.

also, the original is just as good as the x series.

I only started at X4 to X6, then the pc version of X8 where I currently play it now.
Star Force and Battle Network is okay but the X Series s the best game ever.

I still like the X series, though they cut it too short.

The X Series only showed Axl for three titles, X7, X8, and Command Mission. What a waste of good character.

But I also love the Star Force series as well. Star Force 1 is a bit hard though, but Star Force 2 is more of a thumbs up for me. When they release Star Force 3 (whether Japanese or English), I would recommend that this game is two thumbs up.

In the Philippines, am I the only one who played Megaman or there are other Filipinos besides me?

Playing Megaman games improves the timing of attacks and dodge, don't you think guys?
