Hopefully this is in the right section. If not please move it to the correct one. ---- I'm getting a new laptop soon and i'm having trouble choosing. I'd be using it to do some essays, do some image editing aswell as playing some games. I'm not hoping it to run everything in max detail but that would be a bonus if it has the power. My budget is £400, i can go over a little bit but not too far. I've found 2 laptops so far which seem to fit what i want it to do. (I found another one but it's not being sold anymore) 1. Acer Aspire 5560G http://www.bhsdirect.co.uk/BH_Acer_Notebook_10066417/version.asp?refsource=bhawin&affid=73985&awc=2938_1344027134_2d66f17c3f26e7e6573079742b188251 2. Acer Aspire 5755G http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-15-6-inch-Graphics-Windows-Premium/dp/B008E6A412/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1345134936&sr=8-4 I do have a spare 4gb stick of ram if needed however i want to confirm which laptop i should choose first. If there are any other laptops which are similar or better at those prices i'm willing to check it out.
From the two you have there, the first one looks better. It also is under your budget range, I don't see why you should spend extra on something that nearly does the same thing compared to the other. I was thinking you might want to haul something smaller and compact though. Notebooks are my priority, for they are much much more nifty. Whatever its your choice, so here are a few similar things you might want to consider: 1)Samsung Notebook 2)ASUS Notebook If you think these suck then I can't find any other notebook worth anything for a high end user.
the acer Aspire 5560G is the better option. Be aware that laptop ram is different to desktop ram so what you have might not fit. Even if what you have is laptop ram of the right DDR family, only put it in if its speed is equal to or higher than what is already in the laptop.
Newegg doesn't ship internationally as far as i'm aware of. Shipping prices on those laptops that Ceriu5 suggested on ebay (the only place i can buy one and get it shipped) are pretty high. £42 - £99, all from america. I guess i'll order the 5560g today. The earliest delivery is tomorrow according to bhs so it shouldn't take long. As for ram, i do know the difference between between desktop and laptop ram. I'll check the ram when i get the laptop. Thanks for the input.
