which is harder to master? piano or guitar

me and my friend couldn't get over the argument over which is harder to learn, piano or guitar?

we bet 5 bucks over who'd win so i posted a poll here

piano is way harder, I tried both, an let's just say that I got more troubles with the piano than with the guitar

 

Who gets the money!? Seeing as I have only played a guitar and have failed miserably at it and I have never played a piano but I would almost say a piano is harder seeing its has a lot more to it.

 

I say it would be guitar is harder for my opinion. Playing piano i think is easier.

That's depend on the Individual itself,
I can master Guitar faster, but really slow in Piano.
While my, little sister master the piano quickly than me.
(but bad at guitar... )

 

This doesn't apply to all songs on the guitar, but...

Guitar = One string of notes

Piano = Two strings of notes you have to follow separately

That's why I believe (after having tried both), that the piano is much harder.

 

I reckon the piano would be harder-but yet to try-only guitar-and i sucked (guitar hero not close enough )

BTW I reckon this should have been in sports and hobbies, but that is just me.

 

I've learnt to play both for three years, and I've found guitar to be alot harder, also I haven't touched my guitar in four months because I find it so hard to play and I would much rather play piano seeing as it so simple to play.

Atleast that my opinion.

 

but you people say that pino is way simpler, I don't see the simplicity of playing two lines of notes differently
you have to keep with 2 hands, instead of just one for the guitar...

 

I'm not the only who uses two hands to type, am I?
If you can type with two hands, you can play the piano.

piano is hard to maser because you have to keep an eye on keys
or you will press a wrong one

 

I was able to learn several songs and almost all of the chords on guitar in about a week on my own... but I decided to take a piano class at my school, I've been doing it for about a semester and a half now, and I only know 3 chords and about 2 or 3 simple songs

 

Not really, it doesn't take that long to memorise where the keys are, also you should be keeping your eyes on the notes the keys.

 

My opinion only, is that the piano is harder. I play both, but i gave up on piano and think keyboards are better. I'm not a note follower though. I don't read them. I play by ear. The good thing with a keyboard, is that you can play it and put it on guitar mode and it sounds like you are playing a guitar. I also play electric bass. easiest guitar to learn honestly. lead is harder but once you get your fingers right, you can play both. I was always told i have good hands for piano because my fingers are long and skinny. I still don't play well though. I like guitar better and think it's easy when compared to piano. Other than the music, im not a guitar hero fan.

 

Now I can kick ass on Guitar Hero and Rockband does that count?
