So it started with DS, which I really don't mind. Nintendo is reporting massive losses due to pirating. Seems all people do is buy DS and never buy games, which will eventually lead to devealopers not even wanting to make them anymore. But now almost all of the Playstation games have been blocked. I signed up yesterday for a premium membership not knowing that they did this BS. I have no intrest in SNES, NES, or N64 I litteraly have every game ever game for those consoles already on my external hard drive. But I did want a few PS games.

I downloaded Megeman Legends 2 yesterday no problem. Now it's blocked, along with about 98% of the top 25 downloaded games on the server. Whats the point in having a rom website that you can't download roms on. Yall should take the premium membership offer down, it's pointless now. I waisted 15.00.

do you think we're enjoying this situation? People bitching really isn't helping our stress levels.

Just checked megaman legends 2 on amazon and ebay, shit is 50-60 bucks, fuck that. They don't want us to pirate older games now? Then they need to figure out a way to get prices lowered.

they dont make any money from second hand games anyway so I dont see that ordering us to take down the old games is going to make any difference to their profits whatsoever

My point is, it's annoying having them take down older games since they can be rarer and harder to find for cheap.

At this point it isn't about them losing money. They are attacking the entire Modding and Emulation Comunity as a whole. A few years back, you guys remember they started arresting people for downloading music? It was such a big deal, people were scared to bootup limewire! Well after a year or so, they realized(hey we cant stop this, 99% of the worlds population is doing it). After that it died down, but now they are trying to arrest the owners of limewire. They are attacking at the source.

Well I'm sure in their eyes, one illigal game is just as bad as another. Besides, are you guys forgetting that people have been putting Playstation games on their PSPs? I'm sure that has a ton to do with it too! In any event, the entire sittuation is bullshit. Hopefully they will realize that they can stop some, but they will never stop us all. Demonoid was attacked a year ago, but it's going strong again.

I think the big problem here is how people emulate the games. They use hacked firmware and illegal software to play the games. So if they take away the games, they take away the illegal emulators. RomUlation has survived one DMCA attack from the ESA.

My guess is because it stops people buying them on the psn store...

    Wait...PS1 IS DOWN!?!?

    [me=hYpNoS]checks[/me]

As I thought, they are aiming at ones that are on the psn store...

Still, resident evil 3 is up for grabs :p

They will never do away with it all together. Sure some sites will fall victem but after they move on to something else it will be on again. Not to mention they don't really hit most of the private torrent sites. They are fighting a giant, they will lose. As long as there have been games, there have been hacks. In 20 years we'll all be playing call of duty on our PS3 and360 emulators saying "damn dude, graphics really sucked back then, can you believe we had to use controllers?"

    LMAO

Companies like Nintendo are actually larger then RomUlation. They can overpower RomUlation easily.
And 20 years eh... The gameboy would be an old man by then ):

I hate to say it but...your wrong.

The original xbox can't even be emulated yet past futurama/halo, rather limited I might add...though it's just chance.

ps2 and gamecube can be done near perfect now funny enough.

    He said in 20 years...
Who knows how technology advances by then?

he doesnt mean RomUlation, he means piracy in general.

the original xbox doesnt need emulating. its virtually identical to a PC.

Dude, I don't know if you're aware of how fast technology is growing. I work in the computer field, I own a networking company. But anyways, technology is growing pretty much exponentialy. Think about how far we've come in the last 20 years. 20 years ago computers were pretty much non-existant in the home. A DVD today holds more info then they did back then, by a lot. So you're telling my that in 20 years there wont be technology that will run games game made now?

    Thats just sily..

I have a 20 year old computer (24 year old actually). It's roughly equivalent to a SNES in terms of CPU power and ram.
