it's probably gonna be backwords compatible, but i believe the 3DS will just enable 3D which means the game will have to be 3D to play in 3D....
well 3ds will probably be backwards compatible with those so a 3ds flashcart will probably be able to run them
The title should probably be "if the 3DS gets hacked", as there is no guarantee it will even be easily hackable. Nintendo has really been stepping up their anti-piracy measures over the past few months, and they will probably put as much as they can into making sure the 3DS is as hard to hack as possible.
Agreed. Well the PS3 still isn't hacked. Also if the 3DS does get hacked, it could probably play PS1 games.
I'm sure the 3DS could play Playstation and N64 games pretty much flawlessly. It's just a matter of somebody making a good enough emulator. I wouldn't mind a good SNES emulator that could play ANY SNES game flawlessly either.
It has been toyed with by the iPhone hacker GeoHot. http://www.qj.net/qjnet/playstation-3/video-geohot-on-ps3-hacks-in-paris-conference.html IF the 3DS is even hackable, what would it do? It may be a lot like the Wii scene, but who knows.
This means that Nintendo or other developpers will make remakes of excisting games for the 3DS. One of the Announced ports is Ocarina Of Time. I don't know if nintendogs+cats and mariokart 3D are ports to, but I thinks so. Because the 3DS uses new graphics...
that would be awesome! Mario galaxy has great graphics and the gameplay is nice to. I think it's awesome that Nintendo will make a port of Ocarina Of Time.
r the making a remake for windwaker? or are we gonna have to wait for someone to make an emu for gc games on 3ds?
No, they aren't remaking Wind Waker. And a GCN Emulator seems very unlikely, though the concept of playing something like Metroid Prime 2 Echoes on DS is titillating. Anyways, I sure hope 3DS is backwards compatible, I'd still like to be able to play my DS games on it. As for when the 3DS is hacked, as it has been said, Nintendo is stepping up their AP, but it doesn't matter how complex they make the AP Protection, somebody will hack around it eventually. Time is all it takes, and some smart ass guys.
