I would like to add that it is the coolest that they translate games for *SNES emulators. Bahamut Lagoon was my fave.
I enjoyed Jade Cocoon on the *PSX emulator (ePSXe). The latest build (1.7) works great with XBox360 wireless controllers and Jumping Flash emulates perfectly and was one of my favorites on the harware and is still a trip.
I really really miss my *XBox for racing games because the experience of having your own soundtrack mixed in the game itself (not just playing on top like the 360) was awesome. *Project Gotham Racing and *NFS HP2 were the best. *Star Wars KOTOR set up for the Duke controller was another great time in XBox1 history.
Now on the *PS2 I have had so much fun rebuilding games for HDLoader with ARMax boot menus and such, it's hard to say if I really like the games that much or if watching the load time disappear just makes me feel like I have a better system hehe.
On *PC, I went back recently and installed Morrowind and the expansion packs but the goal was to play with the mods that are out there and that has been a blast.
My *XBox360 took a crap but Burnout Revenge to me looked and played great. I had a modded system but it took a crap. Aside from the graphics, I am pretty disappointed with the 360. The controllers however, especially when you get the wireless adaptor for PC, are the best! Even the cheap Joytech model USB controller I got stays plugged in and I use it often when batteries are low.
I still love to play *MAME32 with my kids. Ocassionally, I talk friends and family into playing too. Some people don't get it, but to relive that rush of going to an arcade full of games you haven't played before and knowing you have only so many tokens...Priceless! Last game I played with my 5 year old daughter was Pang 3. My 10 year old son is usually playing the PS2 or the Nintendo DS.
The *DS is pretty good and the games are kind of retro looking. With my Daughter i play Mario Party. With a M3 Simply or a Real (I have both), you can actually launch the download demos from a server (your DS being the server) and let other kids download the demos. Download play from games where other people actually download the multiplayer portion of the game without the cart is nice.
I actually have been playing Doom again just for nostalgia. A newer version of GZDoom came out a few months ago. You only need the WAD and you just throw in the files from GZDoom and launch. Throw your dehacked files in the same directory and that works too. I have my 360 controller set up with it and enabled the look up and down so it feels like a port, hehe.
