Mess around with your configuration. What game are you trying to play? If all fails, try using epsxe.

I assume you have the necessary BIOS files .... right?
If you still get black screens, it's a problem with the video settings or even your video card. Try tweaking it here and there. Go to the epsxe forums or something.

Yes, you absolutely have to have bios to run the emulator, although those are illegal to have as well. If you're still having trouble getting the emulator to work, use this one:

    http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/psx_em.html

This emulator doesn't require plugins to use, though it doesn't play games as smooth as ePSXe.

    uhmm what's that?

i only have the main bios that i need and it is in .bin file then along with it when i downloaded it, is a .cue file........

i don't know what that is for but i included it in the bios folder of the emulator........

    Try downloading some different plugins....
There are some good tutorials on how to get epsxe up and running on youtube....

SCPH1001 and SCPH7002 are the bios files, you need one of them in the bios folder. There should not have been a .cue file with the bios, .cue is part of game images that are ripped in .bin format (not to be confused with the bios in .bin format, which is named either SCPH1001.bin or SCPH7002.bin)

that is the game file, not the bios.
