    Advance Wars Dual Stike
    Advance Wars Days of Ruin
    Etrian Odyssey 1 & 2
    Luminious Arc 1 & 2

Etrian Odyssey is the most challenging of these

but Luminous Arc is the best

Luminous Arc lasted long too if you read all the story
it feels alot like a Visual Novel in my opinion

Valkyria profile: covenant of the Plume (good story wise, 3 endings, alternative systen)

Disgaea DS (one of the best Strategic games around, high customization of characteres)

Luminous Arc 1 & 2 : Like crazy said, its one VIsual Novel. They arent very hard at all. Nice to relax.

ADv Wars and FFTA I dont like at all. Stay away from the Fire Emblem DS. I am a great fan of FE, but the DS version is an absolute crap. Better get one GBA emulator and play the FE 7 and 6.

Acuta;;y Fire Emblem wasn't THAT bad, well since we don't pay for our games, I guess it doesn't hurt to give it a try

I agree fire emblem DS kind of sucked,

I know it was remake but they could of at least added some of the features that made the GBA ones great. Anyway the DS needs an original fire emblem not a port.

tbh I was excited by the idea of a remake.

    but.

The battle animations sucked. The anime looking ones were amazing! Everytime I noticed a diferent animation I was always like " WoW, Critical hit!" . The 3D animations were small paced, no action actualy and the criticals were ridiculous. And the sword master was using a sword looking like a lance and didnt ninja teleport like the GBA (that was the final deception to me give up the game...)
Some classes, like the original, lost their evolved forms (read, thief). They could had added then, realy.
    Mid game save points -_-''

And the main deception, nothing in the story was changed.... realy.. nothing. There is no character development, the recruit talks are simples as "Hey lets join the army!""Yeh I will" *XXXXX, joins the group* . Completely diferent from the newer games.

I was expecting some awesome remake, like they did for FFIV for exemple.

lol, yeah nothing beat this swordfighter animation

I didn't like the way you could change literally every unit to the class of your choice (they lost their individuallity).

On a certain point of view I liked that.
My Shiida was very cool as one SwordMaster <3

The hardest SRPG for DS are Hoshigami Remix, and SMT: Devil Survivor

And as for FE, no comparison to the GBA versions.

Another fantastic SRPG would be Rondo of Swords, which uses a unique gamestyle of running through your opponents.

Hey i was about to post that one LOL ;D but yea Rondo of Swords is a keeper when it comes to tactics but don't think its easy to beat it provides quite a challenge if you are up to it also the Luminous Arc series were awesome i suggest you start with those first the storyline gameplay and characters was just totally kool ;)

Yeah :) I loved Rondo of Swords, I like how you can choose to kill your sister or not- I spared her life

The only other one i can think of is Hoshigami Remix, but it is one game you will either love or hate

about Hoshigami Remix, after hearing it here
    I tried it
the battles are simply too long, and I dont feel much character development
