What should i buy? Opinions please :)

Well this week i'm finally getting paid
So i've decided its about time to buy a new console (or handheld), but i am struggling to choose...

This is what i already have:

NES (Deluxe edition with ROB and zapper)
Dreamcast
N64
Xbox
Gamecube
PS1
Wii
PS3
Gameboy
Gameboy Colour
DS Lite
PSP (Original and Slim)
Gameboy Advance


They keep me busy lol

I'm tempted to go for a Virtual Boy or a Panasonic Q ( i'm afraid i do like shiny things), or get the Mega Drive which i loved when i was younger.

Anyway any ideas would be great, retro is good, rare is better

So basically i'm just looking for ideas and things to spend my money on, what do you think?

 

didn't virtual boys hurt your eyes or something?

hmm....SNES? ps2? atari 2600, 5200, 7600, atari lynx and jaguar, xbox 360 (although I suggest against it), SEGA genesis (highly recommend for those sonic games ^_^)

 

lol yes they give you headaches apparently and there was a rumour about seizures, but unfortunately i cant help being tempted

i do love sonic so the sega will probably, knowing me i'll probably go out and buy a few, then the problem would be finding room for everything

ooh an atari is tempting, which one do you think would be the best one to buy?

theres just too much choice

 

2600, I believe thats the one that had the most "memorable" games

well, you have some nice systems that you have!
if you want rare, try to get,

1- cdi-though they don't have that many games and most are fmv [full motion video] games, the system is hard and expensive to get.

2- 3do-it is similar to the cdi except it has a better library of games [both fmv and your regular games[platforming, shooting, etc.]]. there are 3 versions to get [panasonic fz-1 and fz-10 and the goldstar 3do]. the goldstar and the fz-1 are trayloaders and the fz-10 are toploaders, which one to get is upto your desiring in the look of the system, but the rare one to get is the goldstar. problems with each system version is that the goldstar is temperamental [you may get jammed trays or that you're games don't load] as well as it may or may not play back-ups [aka copied games]. if you plan to play back-ups, get either the fz-1 or fz-10.

3- do you love imports?! if you love imports then you may want to invest in a sega saturn system. though the system died 2-3 years later after release, it had stronger sales in japan.

4- want to waste money, buy a neo geo game system. it is not the system that would make the hole in your pocket or wallet, but rather the cost of the games.

5- you have a ps1, what about the black ps1. what are it's features?? i don't remember. ;D

btw, you can get some insigths [thoughts and comments on each system by going to gamefaqs.com, choosing which system you're interested on and selecting the systems faq.

virtual boy?? look around and you can actually get a good bundle for a modest price.

getting a mega drive [which region??]. try to get the model 1 for the cd system, though it is temperamental, it is rare as hell.

and i will have to get a cdi at some point just to have a play on the really bad zelda games lol

 

as for a 360...

i know i should really buy one,but i think i'll wait for microsoft to stop releasing more versions and just buy the best,

unfortunately, i am the sort of person who would buy one, then want the newer one as soon as it was released lol

 

you should hold off on the neo geo. since you own a wii and snk is releasing games for the wii in like 1 game or so a month, you're better off just wait for them to release the games for wii. i would not want someone spending thousands of dollars on something they can get cheaply [the guilt is too strong].

 

Thank you, but i'm afraid i have another odd habit. I like to play games on the consoles they were made for, i actually bought my Gamecube after my Wii.
No wonder everyone thinks i'm strange

 

Looks like you pretty much have everything...What about an Xbox 360 and then you can come play live with us

I think you have enough consoles there to keep you busy for a looong time Maybe a SNES for the old classics?

 

What about a SEGA Saturn. Its the only one I have that you dont have... that and an SNES... and an ATARI ... but whos counting.

 

i like the idea of a snes, it has some brilliant games
