What is Ysmenu?

I got an R4 in the mail yesterday and I just heard about Ysmenu... What is it? Does it work on the R4? Is it better tahn the R4 1.18 firmware?

 

YSMenu is like a emulated TTDS card on the R4, And yes it dose work on a original!, but not many clone cards like R4 HDSC

 

And it's better than the R4 firmware?

How do I get it? Is it hard to put on the R4?

R4 Firmware v1.18 + YSMenu

You will see ysmenu.nds after you starup that looks like packman on your ds, startup that if you would like to use ysmenu to play games like the new mario

Moonshell 2.05 if you like to play mp3 music or videos on your ds

Just put new folders on the root of you card, like my music, my videos

You do for mario, And for upcomming games, Firmware v1.18 just use for your games, and ysmenu for games like mario

YSMENU For R4DS, No need for ysmenu.nds, Just boot game, Although you will not have both firmwares

Does Kindom Hearts and Pokemon Soul Silver work on Ysmenu?

 

They will i know Kindom Hearts will need a very small code patch but it works, but some games will not, Try playing mario with normal firmware and you will see the diffrence!

Oh... So I just boot up the nintendo DS and go right into the Games folder? I don't even have to go into the Ysmenu? I could still play Bowsers Inside Story without going into Ysmenu...?

 

Yes, But the game will not function right, With ysmenu it dose!

That's why you have both frimware and ysmenu, By gowing into your games folder that's Firmware v1.18, Ysmenu is a emulated version of the TTDS card on a R4 and will also use the games folder

 

So if a game doesn't work in the original Games Folder, I then try Ysmenu.nds? Right?

You do!, Ysmenu will not work with all games, and firmware not with some games, That's why you have both!
