    "Mädchenbildnisse"

I know RomU's got a good Int'l community, so... Can anyone help me?

Never mind. Portraits of Women, right? Note to self, "Bildnisse" is "Portrait"...

Well, google says that it is German for "Girl's Portrait". So are we talking about head shots for a modeling portfolio?

    Modeling Portfolio.

I tried to translate "Mädchenbildnisse" as one word and Google gave me squat. Then I recognised "Mädchen" and decided to translate "bildnisse" separately.

I use Babelfish for most of my translation needs.

I use it all the time at work for German to English, and it is usually very good at finding the meaning of the compound German words (German tends to take pieces of multiple words and combine it into a single word). It'd be like if you wanted to say "Front Left Cutting Cylinder" and instead called it FronLefCutylinder. I really hate the German language. It's like they make up words as they go.

    Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) agrees.

    Victor Klemperer also agrees.

Anyway, my problems solved. I guess this thread should be locked now.
