What is Firmware & how do I download latest firmware?

    What is Firmware & how do I download latest firmware? Do I need to do this to be able to download games onto my R4 for DS?

    How are people still getting R4s?

    Anyway, there's a thread that has all of your questions answered. Just look at the stickied topics in each of the forum sections until you find it.

    People just call them R4s, usually they're an R4 clone. The firmware is like the OS for your flashcart, there are instructions in various threads, there might be a tutorial in the tutorials section, and/or its probably covered in the common issues sticky in this board.
