Whenever I DMA Mode is on, sometimes my DS game will go 'freeze!'
    Seriously, what is DMA Mode?

Its something from your flash-card, put it off if a ds-game doesn't work, maybe you have to put the soft-reset off too if your card haves that function.

He's just asking what dma mode means.

Then avoid answering if you aren't sure unless your asking a question that may help the person later on.

    Here we go...

There you go-I guess it doesn't always help in games.

Direct Memory Access :) Just means it can perform a function without having to go via the CPU to do so, so in essence it is quicker.

In programming, DMA allows you to read and write memory independently from the CPU. The DS has DMA hardware dedicated to perform transfers of memory. During a DMA, the main CPUs are locked from using certain memory hardware, which can cause issues with memory/cache particularly.
