What is a boss?

What title says.

Also, is there a FAQ section here? I can't find it.
It took me a long time to figure out what RPG stood for, I thought it was Report Program Generator, coming from a computer programming background. Like what do I care what language this game is written, lol.

 

I can't help but lol at this.

RPG - Role Playing Game

Boss - Usually an opponent related to the storyline of a game who has heightened statistical values or more powerful abilities. Think of him/her/it as a commander of lesser baddies.

 

RPG - Role-playing game. It's a game genre where one or more players adopt a role and act it out in a virtual reality. Usually in an RPG game, you will set out on an adventure or quest.

Where did you get that Report Program Generator thing?

 

This is back in the old days of computer programming. Mid 80's. Remember carrying punch cards and accidentally dropping it and then have to sort them. One card per line of coding.
Basic, Fortran, COBOL, RPG, Pascal, etc.

 

A Boss can also be someone that will not allow you to get paid at work,or even work for that matter especially if you piss them off for making fun of their shoes or joy riding in their new Cadillac Escalade and not replacing the gas used and god forbid you scratch the damn paint job...and don't even get started about "Mystery Stain" in the back seat...

Apocalyptica, reading your post, I thought you were serious, maybe talking about Grand Theft Auto, lol, maybe you stole your boss's car and went for a joy ride, lol.

A boss in real-life is mostly like Apocalyptica said ;D

Boss-End game final bad guy with abnormal stats indicating superiority.

Or inbetween levels just to make beating it more satifing...

Example-In the original super mario bros you fight a bowser at the end of the current world-usually in the black dungeon stages.


A boss in real life...well when you work you'd know-or don't want to but have to




RPG-role playing game.

Basically it's like any other game-you put yourself into someone else's shoes.

However-you might lead a team ofm people-turn based combat and stat managment to worry about as well as magic or other abilities...

Final fantasy is a better example of my describtion-most games these days have slight RPG elements.
