i was rummagging around youtube and found a resident evil 4 video before the actual resident evil 4 was released.
search for resident evil 3.5 on youtube to watch the video. it's way superior in the atmosphere then the current resident evil 4 that we all have played. maybe this is how resident evil 5 will be presented. this really sucks.

it's not only resident evil 4, but also resident evil 2 [search resident evil 1.5 on youtube].

RE4 sucks, i really hate the concept of umbrella corp become a Cult....IMO, RE is only good in RE1, 2 and 3. RE1 and 3 is the best....

re 1,2 are the best, 3 is okay. but did you saw the original concept of resident evil 4 [3.5]?!

I prefer that Umbrella had a cult off shoot to what appears like everything being supernatural like in the 3.5 video. Its RE its about viral infections and biohazards not demonic possession.

re 3.5 concepts are far from the original re concepts.. if you watched it completely you will see that there are those ghost (WTH?!!) i dont think it will be good if re goes ghost hunting!! haha thats so eww!! RE's concepts are about a zombie outbreak caused by viral infections.. so if we look on the re4.. i would say that they still sticked on some concepts... although there are no true zobies there. the villagers are still outbreaking or being controlled rather due to viral infections...

    wew..

    and OH!! before i forget!!
watch out for the incoming RE:degeneration(a 3d resident evil movie which stars leon s kennedy and still... claire redfield...) the re live actions sucked out!! they are way too far from the real story just like x-men lolz

In RE 4 unbrella wasnt a cult in fact they had nothing to do with the cult they were just they're to steal the parasites so they could research them and possibly manufacture them as biological weapons. it was actually a pretty good game when it comes to game play. it also lets you know what happened to the characters after raccoon city. i know i've always wondered.
code veronica wasnt bad either(good story) but usually isnt included with the RE series for some reason
looking forward to umbrella chronicles unfortunatly dont have a wii

Story wise I dunno because I never really cared but that but RE4: Wii Edition was awesome, one of the few on games on Wii that I consider worth buying.

I'm pretty sure the "Resident Evil 3.5" got turned into Devil May Cry, because it was too far away from the original concept of Resident Evil and survival horror in general.

    Wiki

So what would you rather have?

I myself love Resident Evil 4 and hate Devil May Cry, so I'm perfectly happy with how it turned out.

Personally, I find RE4 soooo much better than the previous RE's. Though it still sort of uses the "tank" style movement, but at lease the camera doesn't hide potential foes. And I think Capcom figured, people will get bored with the same old, mindless zombies concept. Another thing, RE4 lets you play one of the coolest RE characters.

RE4 is one of the best games in the gaming industry, and its the one that Rebuild the TPS genre (gears of war ...etc) and i think the series needed this change .....
as a RE fan ,do i miss the old concept ? yes i do :'(

    (sorry for my poor English)

People got bored of the old so they change it, and somehow people liked it. Times change, games change, and we age.

I liked RE4 and the old games except 3.
I couldn't stand being chased all the time by something I couldn't kill off.
But I might give it another shot one of these days.

Though you cant kill the nemesis, you can certainly knock him down. In hard mode, you get rewarded for doing this. And personally I think RE gun survivor was an interesting change to the game.

Yup, this is true; the supernatural build was too much of a departure from the tried-and-true formula, but it was still a good idea, so rather than scrap the entire project, it was simply changed into what we now know as Devil May Cry. I was lucky/bored enough to do my English speech on Capcom and Wiki is, like, God in text form, so we can't lie to you XD

While I'll admit that the current RE4 is quite a departure from the rest of the series, that was the first game I've played in the whole franchise...I still haven't played many other Resident Evil titles, but 4 has been my favorite so far. We can't really say anything about the original concept because it doesn't exist; should it have come out, would we have been clamoring for a RE4 like the one that we have today, should the developers one day have sat down and said "We thought about making an action game out of it, but that was just for teh lawlz - oh teh noes, ghosts! Quick, shoot the ethereal beings with your non-silver bullet gun!!!"?

NOW, if they made a RE3.5, it would be quite awesome to take the supernatural build and create the game out of that. But, I'll still look forward to RE5 and all of the "WHOA MA GAWD RACISTS!!!!!!" comments that will and have ensued...

Im Pretty sure that Umbrella corp has nothing to do with the events of Resident Evil 4.
I could be mistaken though, but Im almost 100% sure that Umbrella corp isnt in RE4.

Edit : Sorry for the revival of an old topic, I just noticed that it is so old. I was looking for anything to do with Resident Evil Degeneration.

Edit 2 : I'm sorry once again, Umbrella Corp Is involved with RE4, I'm sorry.

well i just watch the gameplay for RE 3.5, they should give us that instead of RE4 crap..... but then RE 3.5 isnt RE anymore, its like playing fatal frame

Though I loved RE4, I do have to agree that its departure from survival horror to pure zombie shooting mayhem is a bit disappointing. The trailer for RE3.5 shows real promise, though I doubt gamers here in the US will ever get to experience it.
