I booted my computer this morning and when it posted, it turned off, I tried again and it started to load vista and shut down. I took everything out of the case and tested everything, then I put it back together and it worked again, I know the CPU fan wasn't on right, but would that make a difference? Why do you think it was freaking out? Also sometimes I turn it on and my resolution is 800X600 instead of 1440X900, how do I fix this, it happens like every 1 out of 10 times I boot it.

You using AMD processor try to d/l the amd dua core optimation file, and update your geforce driver.

    What's the dual-core optimization file?

It's to fix the problem with the AMD processor if you're using geforce card. Look in amd.com and search in the driver section.

yes it would make a load of difference as if it gets hot which it does quickly the pc turns off, also it may not boot without a fan running

Well, the fan was plugged in, and I'm gonna try that Dual-core optimization thing.
