What for you is the best system of all-time?

For me it's the SNES, hands-down. No one can beat the quality of the games it produced. And it's one of those competitions wherein the opponent (Sega Genesis) pushed the other (SNES) to do their very best, and in the end, the console owners of both systems got a treat!

for me it'd be the psx. I agree with you tho the snes was an extremly solid system i lvoed it and still play many of it's games today. But the psx came in my life when i was a teenager so i was understanding the games better and the psx brought us a WIDE variety of games. It could do 2d or 3d games that looked good (for the time's 3d standards) and sony also took risks with this system, bringing some unconventioal games to the american market. Like Gallop Racer for example or Monster Rancher (two games by tecmo heh). Or even Azure Dreams. But that was very hard for me to pick one, i had and loved every consoles (except the jaguar BS), all of them had at least one game that made it worthy for me to have (Dreamcast's Shenmue anyone?)

    1) this coming from a supposedly "Retro Gamer"
    2) of the 3 new gen consoles, you picked the worst of the bunch. LOL!
    3) give me a list of PS3 games that can compare of the best games the other consoles can offer.

Sorry, but ps3 has much more mature games than just RPG's and platformers.

    1) that is a meaningless rank based on how many posts he has.
    2) if you can't justify your opinion keep it to yourself. We don't allow mindless bashing here.
    3) depends what games you like

The SNES and GBA were both winners in my book.

too many great consoles out there but for something a little different, my original gameboy of which I still have. It gave me sweet gaming release wherever and whenever I wanted as long as my batteries didn't run out and the light source was good enough, although there were better handhelds at the time Nintendo's was the one for me with a huge catalogue of games and 3rd party peripherals to make the experience even better, it was my fondest, a close second though was n64 four player was the bomb.
