What would be the best firmware to put on a R4i Gold 3DS? Also is my cart legit or not? I notice that 'RTS' isn't present on the cart, also my cart is coloured dark grey and the website at the bottom of the cart says www.R4-GOLD.NET. Please help me, I'm a real noob

Let's just summarize it all up.

    1. You think you had bought THE recommended cart, but you didn't. Instead you'd chosen to buy a LOW END CLONE. There are so many carts going by the name 'R4', most are clones; some reliable, some freaking bad that it's best to use as door jammer. Yours is one of it.

    2. RTS stands for Real Time Saving. It's a feature on some carts that enables the user to save in real time their gaming progress. Such feature isn't necessary to have though more of an added bonus.

    3. The best firmware to use is the one from it's official website. Of cause the site your cart came from is dead. Try finding it in linfoxdomain : http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/. There's no guarantee what you find will match.

    4. Secondary firmware to use; I doubt there is any. Don't think YSMENU will support it, but go ahead and try.

    5. Getting it to work on an upgraded DSi which runs a firmware above v.1.4.3? Cry as hard as you can, there's no hope as your cart's site is dead. And being dead means there's no update coming from it. Don't expect to use latest YSMENU to solve the problem. YSMENU solves rom not working due to anti piracy protection, not for solving flash carts not readable by the console due to being blocked as a result to using an updated DSi firmware.

    6. All in all, pick up your credit card and buy THE recommended flash carts and avoid buying more CLONES.
