What are the rules of game improvement hacks?

I'm not talking about hacks that change the game completely or does anything to make the game stupid. But I have a rom hack of Tales of Phantasia for the gba that simply put back the character names that most of the game's fans are familiar with. Like Cress was changed back to Cless, and Claus was changed back to Klarth as the game originally intended it to be, according to the official art I've seen. Would something like that be alright?

...could you make this more clear?

Do you want to upload your hack?

Are you asking for the hack?

If it's the above 2, it's ok, anything else, I'd have to read to know.

From what I can tell, if you have a hack that patches correctly, works correctly, and won't brick anybody's DS, GBA, etc., then you can upload it on some mass file share site (MediaFire, Megaupload, etc.) and put it in the rom sharing section with details on what the patch is and what it may not work on. For older games (NES, GB, GBC) pretty much every hack you could ever hope for is automatically included in each download.
