what are games like.....

    final fantasy 9 and a2 grimoire of the rift where you are able to learn spells/attacks/abilities from items?

    no they dont. pokemon learn attacks by leveling up

    oh yea anyways are there any final fantasy games that have blue mages besides a2 and 9?

    Well the idea of learning attacks from using itens is specific of the Final Fantasy Tatics Advanced games. You may want to try the GBA one as well.

    I have no idea if any other game use a similar system. Thats very FF specific.

    Oh wait, wth I am talking about.

    Tales of Vesperia (xbox 360 and ps3) you also learn skills from itens. Can't be sure if any other Tales game follow the same idea though.

    Actually..

    Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.

    In the game, you can only hold up to ten items per character, and each weapon/armor/spell took up an item slot. So, you kind of do learn spells from items... The class system is really unique, as well.
