ok, my friend has bought a retail copy of windows XP from microsoft and well since the Windows genuine advantage thing has been installed, it has been saying that the copy of windows xp is not official and i would like to know if there is anyway to remove this POS thing that microsoft installed to it
Did he enter the product key correctly? By not doing that key it'll fool it into thinking it's not real...and I dont think removing the windows advantage would help, if that was possible...
well, i didnt know you could enter it wrong and let you finish the setup i dont mean to sound mad but i have been trying to help them but the only solution is to format the PC and install a different copy of windows XP but the disk they have been using came with the PC when they bought it from wal-marts, they had to buy a key from microsoft since their sticker on their pc was scratched off
