Westernime versus Japanime

Okay the DBZ versus Naruto thread is getting way too old because DBZ will obviously pwn Naruto

So I decided to put up this thread.

Now who would win, western Cartoon/comic book characters (including such guys as the South Park crew & Looney Tunes) heroes/villains, or Japanime (As anime refers to the "style" not Japanese cartoons itself) Characters?

I for one think that if you Goku haters want him dead, let "The Atom" go miniscule, enter Goku's body & kill him molecule by molecule ;D

 

I wonder can Ghostbusters beat Hell Girl...... technically Hell Girl is a spirit, so in Ghostbusters term, spirit is a negative charge ecto entiti which they can capture with thier proton pack.

I bet Enma Ai would constantly beg to be released out of the containment field &/or offer her services in exchange ;D

Come to think of it, I bet Hikari (from Hikari no Go) would just call the Ghostbusters so he can get rid of Sai from pestering him to play Go in the first place. Or Yuusuke would just hire the Ghostbusters to get rid of the Toguro Brothers or Sensui if he felt lazy.

 

I don't know about the ghost buster. But i remember that one of them played extra as a "ghost buster" in an old movie of casper. He was useless.

 

ya that would be really funny.

Anyway how about Superman VS Goku, wait i got a better idea, Superman vs Doraemon XD

Well if we're going with style it'd easily be western, most people don't appreciate how beautifly designed things like looney tunes are. MOST "anime" has to follow this strict code of design where as western have to be different.

If everyone followed loony tunes visual style it wouldn't work, all anime looks the same and it's fine, there are different standards of what will be acceptable and western is FAR more stylized.

 

A bit off topic Darkaxl, as this thread's purpose is only to discuss the outcome if a major cross over, time/space/dimension rip occured in both cartoon fields, but still a valid point

As for what you said about the "artform" itself, tell me about it, the body alone has a helluva lot "recommended" length measurement rules & such.

 

Woops mis-read the post (My bad), as far as anime goes as you've stated there are usualy boundries that have to be touched upon.

MOST male characters are 7-8 heads tall but unlike real life most female characters seem to stick to 7-8 heads to. Geneticaly female characters are smaller in build than male characters but this often seems to be skipped in anime.

I also hate how they try and make some anime "cute" for the 30 year old men who wanna see some pre-teen flesh. They also seem to deal with serious issues and follow the same generic storyline.

"MY BROTHERS DEAD BECAUSE OF MY DAD, BUT HES MY DAD, BUT I MUST KILL HIM BLAH BLAH"

it's there to get deeply and emotionaly attatched to, where as western is there for the jokes.

Western on the other hand, although in some cases throwing polotics in are vastly superior in both design and uniquness. Nothing is cloned.

I personaly LOVE the french style and the french animation style, this whole vector based style is just so nice on the eyes.

He obviously would noone can catch bugs bunny and if they do he'll out wit you. If a sexy man with a shotgun can't catch him i doubt a 5 year old with a bandana would be able to.

Thanos with a completed Infinity Gauntlet or Goku with the Mystic Dragon Balls?

 

I don't think Goku would have time to use those dragonballs , especially if he has to go gather them.

 

True, plus he has to summon Shi'enron first, while he does that Thanos could just easily turn the Dragon Balls to nothing.

Here's another thought that just occured to me, no one Super hero alone can beat Goku because of his powers. Just to match wits with him you'll need:

1 Either Superman's invulnerability, or The Hulk's raw strength - you need one of them to match Goku's strength

2. Nightcrawler's teleportation power - To match with Goku's instantaneous teleportation skill.

3. Captain Atom - to match wits with Goku's Fire Power.

4. Cloak, Sauron, Rogue, The Leech or The Parasite - To drain Goku's chi or ki.

5. Doctor Strange, Doctor Fate or even Boom Boom - They're the only characters I know off who can cast something like a "Spirit bomb" or Genki Dama ball.

 

The core question here is whether the power of awesome and unimaginable wins is stronger in the west or in the east.

just look at some of the heroes in japanese anime the answer is quite clear. No matter what spider man does, he cannot win against the awesome power growth spurts that japanese heroes do when they are in a tight fit. ;-)

I think Japan's pokemon anime would own all others with a magikarp,seriously, Ash would be like "Magikarp use splash!" and everybody would instantly asplode!
But serious time now: Digimon and Pokemon have some serious OTT characters that could destroy common anime characters, for example: Omnimon versus Goku, Omnimon is huge, extremely powerful yet fast for his size, whilst Goku would be small and a spirit bomb wouldn't be much to a Terra-Destroyer attack...

 

@anakacheek: Yes Spider-man may not be THAT strong but he does have his Spider senses. Though guys like Goku could out match him by speed &/or Strength, Spider-man's Spider senses will always kick in at the right moment to let him dodge any on coming attack.
