With my favorite series of command & conquer dying and age of empires dead, I need more strategy games to play. Do you people know any good ones? Also, isn't it sad what they did to C&C 4?
Age of mythology. Great characters, big battles, beautiful music, great controls, and it will run perfect on almost any pc. another badass one is Stronghold. its a bit harder if you want a challenge.
Warcraft is a great game( but I'd probably say that for any RTS game)! Thank you for suggesting it. I've heard alot about Starcraft 2 also. About Age of mythology, I beat it and it's 2(or 1 can't exactly remember) expansions. About Sronghold, looks too hard for me. Just because I love RTS doesn't mean I'm good at it! I'm getting there though.
Yeah, I was actually going to suggest Warhammer too. XD I've never played them, but I've heard lots of good things about them.
Haha, forgot about Warhammer! I have a friend who plays one of those and he showed me how it works! Thanks for the reminder! Also, I got a whole bunch of old(but fun) games on squakenet.com. Sad that some of them need MS-DOS though. Reminds me of my old black and white laptop with windows 3.1 .
Warlords III is a great RTS probably one of the greatest and its only $1.99 on amazon.. its got a cool campaign, you get to create a hero and use it for the main story and/or Multiplayer. your heroes level up, get new skills/spells honestly you cant go wrong with this one 16 different races like 28 some classes its awesome
Warhammer 40K Dawn of War IS amazing.However,Relic's crown achievement is... Homeworld-in terms of 'revolutionary gameplay' and engrossing story-this one is the best RTS.Seriously PC Gamer magazine game of the year 1999,alongside with IGN OVERALL Game of the Year is something to ponder on. 3-d fully 360degree space RTS where you command a massive fleet with a massive Mothership as a command center,Your resource is asteroid,etc.You can salvage wrecks and the ambient soundtracks(reminiscent of COSMOS TV Series soundtracks) are amazing. You can assign formation to your ship groups,order them to fly up/down-in any direction/degree.It also means that you and your enemy can wage war in just about any corner or angles.This creates a tension and strategic situation found in no other RTS. You can rotate the camera fully-you can look at your ship from above,below,left-right,front-rear and you can zoom as close as a single ship and as far as a solar system.ALL in REAL TIME-no delay at all,no turn at all. That is why you can't say games from this generation are revolutionary-as Homeworld is an example of many other revolutionary games from the past generation. 1999 3D space RTS with fully rotatable camera,incredible graphics-back that it is quite possibly the best looking game as most games still use 2D sprites back then,some other 3D look hideous but not Homeworld.
